SANTA MAGDALENA, Sorsogon — A concert scheduled for the Kasanggayahan Festival in Sorsogon will proceed as planned on Monday, October 21, despite Tropical Depression Kristine prompting Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 to be raised over the province.

Sorsogon City Mayor Ma. Ester Hamor announced via Facebook that the concert, featuring Original Pilipino Music (OPM) band Parokya ni Edgar and Filipino rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee, would go on “rain or shine.”

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Southern Luzon reported that moderate to heavy rains had been affecting Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Sur, and Northern Samar.

Originally set for the provincial capitol grounds, the 6 p.m. concert has been relocated to the Sorsogon Arena to “accommodate more concertgoers,” according to the provincial tourism, culture, and arts office.

As of 11 a.m., Pagasa reported that Kristine was spotted 870 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, moving west-southwestward.
