BACOLOD CITY — The police seized P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu intended for sale during the MassKara Festival in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay 12, in this city at 12:54 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Arrested in a buy-bust operation by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives was Darel Demafiles, 33, tagged as a high-value drug personality.
Recovered from him was a one-kilogram shabu.
The police said the suspect was arrested previously for illegal possession of drugs.
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., CDEU head, said the illegal drugs came from Manila and were mean to be sold during the MassKara Festival.
The suspect will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
