Teen killed by thunderbolt in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—A teenager was killed while five others – including three children – sustained injuries and burn when a thunderbolt struck a farmhouse in Barangay (village) Curuan here around 11 a.m. Tuesday, the police said Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Ricardo Garcia, chief of the Curuan police station, identified the dead victim as Jaybee Colobres, 17. He said Colombres was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there.

The wounded victims were Wilbert Gregorio, 23; Alvin Andiko, 15; Asa Asing, 12; Gorge Alguazem, 32; and Bernalyn Asan, 15.
