MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said that the Grand Procession of the Holy Rosary of La Naval de Manila, which was attended by thousands of devotees at the Sto Domingo Church in Quezon Avenue, concluded peacefully.
QCPD Acting Director Col. Melecio M. Buslig said that they effectively ensured peace and order during the Sunday ceremony in collaboration with various agencies.
“The event concluded without any untoward incidents, with over 200,000 devotees participating,” the police district said in a statement on Monday.

La Naval de Manila commemorates the victory of the Spanish-Philippine defenders over the Protestant Dutch invaders in the 17th century.
The annual Marian procession, one of the largest in the country, takes place on the second Sunday of October.
During the ceremony, the QCPD said that its personnel, along with Quezon City’s Traffic and Transport Management Department and the Department of Public Order and Safety, implemented a traffic re-routing plan that began at 2 p.m., facilitating the smooth passage of the procession.
Quezon City Police also deployed extra patrol units to nearby communities and set up security checkpoints at critical entry and exit points to ensure public safety.
The QCPD likewise launched health stations, ambulances, and rescue teams along the procession route to respond to medical emergencies. —Emmanuel John Abris, INQUIRER.net intern
