MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Risa Hontiveros on Monday asked the Pasig and Quezon City courts to allow detained televangelist Apollo Quiboloy to physically attend the Senate panel on women’s hearing on October 23.
She requested through separate letters sent to Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 and Quezon City RTC Branch 106.
“[This is a] request for the appearance of Apollo Quiboloy, Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada alias Enteng, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada and Sylvia Cemañes before the public hearing of the Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality on October 23, 2024 at 10:00 in the morning,” Hontiveros’ letter to the Pasig RTC reads.
Meanwhile, she only requested the Quezon City RTC to allow Quiboloy to appear before the Senate panel on women’s hearing.
Quiboloy, a self-appointed son of God, is facing criminal cases, including human trafficking and rape of the members of his church Kingdom of Jesus Christ. He was arrested last September 8.
