LTO-NCR nets 5,769 traffic rules violators from July to Sept
The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) reports catching 5,769 motorists in Metro Manila for various traffic rules violations from July to September 2024. – LTO-NCR Director Roque Verzosa III said Friday, October 11, 2024, that among the apprehended were 2,451 motorists who violated Republic Act No. 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code; 1,625, for not using seat belts; and 593, for not wearing standard protective motorcycle helmets. MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) caught 5,769 motorists in Metro Manila for various traffic rules violations from July to September.
LTO-NCR Director Roque Verzosa III said Friday that from the figure, 2,451 motorists were apprehended for violating Republic Act No. 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code; 1,625, for unbuckled seat belts; and 593, for wearing unauthorized motorcycle helmets.
Verzosa explained that among violations of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code were unregistered motor vehicles (355) and driving vehicles with defective accessories, devices, equipment, or parts (888).

Other violations include the following:
- Driving while wearing slippers (299)
- Reckless driving (294)
- Failure to carry OR/CR while driving (200)
- Obstruction (136)
- Driving without a valid license (123)
- Illegal change of color (63)
- Illegal change of body (51)
- Excess passengers (42)
- Disregarding traffic signs (23)
Verzosa said because of the LTO-NCR’s intensified campaign against traffic violators, they caught many erring drivers.
