MANILA, Philippines – Authorities on Wednesday arrested two drug suspects in separate operations in Quezon City and Tacloban City, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) reported.
In a search operation on Wednesday afternoon, Metro Manila police in Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, apprehended a 27-year-old male with ties to a “significant” drug ring and was also the barangay’s ninth most wanted.
Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas cops caught a “high-value” 37-year-old male in a buy-bust operation in Cabalawan, Tacloban City on the same evening.
Operatives also seized seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (crystal meth), weighing a total of 50 kilograms and valued at approximately P340,000.
“This success underscores our commitment to safeguarding the community from the harms of illegal drugs,” PNP-DEG Director PBGen. Eleazar Matta said in a statement

Authorities also arrested a 60-year-old male in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, and a 51-year-old male in New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City for drug offenses on the same day.
