MANILA, Philippines – Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. will be the second top official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) effective Oct. 9.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief will take over the post vacated by Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, who retired from the service in August, the PNP announced on Sunday.
Assuming the NCRPO director position is Maj. Gen. Sidney Hernia, chief of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Hernia’s position will be given to Brig Gen. Benjamin Sembrano, the acting director of the PNP Forensics Group, which will be passed on to Brig. Gen. Constancio Chinayog.
On Friday, PNP chief Gen. Francisco Marbil also appointed Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo as chief of the PNP Directorial Staff following the retirement of Gen. Jon Arnaldo.
