MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed new officials to the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) and National Bureau of Investigation.
An appointment paper released by Malacañang said that Michelle Anne Gonzales, 53, was designated as PCUP commissioner on Sept. 27 in place of Paolo Guanco.
Gonzales, a former Taguig City councilor, is the mother of Michelle Mae Gonzales, who was appointed commissioner at large of the National Youth Commission in August.

Marcos also appointed Rommel Vallejo as NBI assistant director for human resource and management service, replacing Leo Edwin Leuterio.
A lawyer, Vallejo previously served as NBI Metro Manila’s regional director.
In 2014, Vallejo, then head of the NBI Anti-Organized Crime Division, arrested former solon and retired Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan in Sta. Mesa, Manila, for the kidnapping of two University of the Philippines students. —Julie M. Aurelio
