MANILA, Philippines — Five men were arrested in Las Piñas City last September 30 for towing a vehicle without proper authorization, according to police.
In a report on Wednesday, the Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects only by their aliases, Floyd, 26; Napoleon, 23; Jefferson, 27; Jeric, 27; and Jaime, 55.
Police said they responded to a call from the victim identified only as Angelo who reported that his vehicle was illegally towed from his residence.

When confronted, SPD said the suspects failed to provide the necessary documents authorizing the towing, prompting their arrest.
Recovered from the suspects were the towed vehicle and the tow truck.
All five suspects were brought to the SPD anti-carnapping office for further investigation last October 1.
The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act No. 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016). They are now detained at the Las Piñas City Custodial Facility. — Stefani Tacugue, INQUIRER.net intern
