CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines—Four people died and four others were hurt when a tire of the sport utility vehicle they were riding burst, causing it to overturn on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) in Porac, Pampanga, Tuesday afternoon.

Dr. Roberto Santos, administrator of the Bataan Peninsula Medical Center, said four of the Ford Expedition’s eight passengers died while being treated in the hospital in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Santos, however, declined to identify the victims on the request of their relatives.

A report from the SCTEx traffic management center said the accident happened at Kilometer 39 of the SCTEx at 3:15 p.m. It said the victims were bound for the Subic Bay Freeport.
