Typhoon Julian affects over 149,000 people in PH
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Julian (international name: Krathon) affected 149,293 individuals in the country, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.
According to the agency’s 8 a.m. situational report, 18 people were reportedly injured in Cagayan Valley, while an individual in the Cordillera Administrative Region was reported missing.
The typhoon also displaced 5,431 people. As of Wednesday, 2,176 individuals were in evacuation centers, while 3,255 took shelter elsewhere.

The NDRRMC also said it had already distributed P11,326,874.99 worth of assistance to individuals affected by the onslaught of Julian.

Julian’s center was last spotted 265 km west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of 205 kph.
