MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected to occur in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Quezon, and Rizal in the next two hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In an advisory issued at 7:24 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, the state weather agency said the four Luzon provinces may experience “unfavorable weather” in the next few hours.
Currently, however, rains are being experienced in the following areas:
- Bulacan (Norzagaray, San Jose del Monte, Santa Maria, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Paombong, Hagonoy)
- Metro Manila (Caloocan)
- Zambales (Cabangan, Olongapo, Subic, San Antonio, Castillejos)
- Bataan (Orion, Pilar, Balanga, Bagac, Abucay, Dinalupihan, Morong, Hermosa, Orani, Samal) Pampanga (Macabebe, Masantol, Sasmuan)
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.

Earlier, Pagasa reported that Julian further strengthened into a super typhoon and was last spotted 205 kilometers west of Itabayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of 230 kph.
It is expected to make landfall along the southwestern coast of Taiwan on Wednesday morning or afternoon and leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday afternoon or evening.
