12 areas in Northern Luzon suspend classes due to Typhoon Julian

MANILA, Philippines — More local government units (LGUs) have suspended their face-to-face classes on Monday, September 30 in light of the bad weather brought by Typhoon Julian.
These LGUs are as follows:
Mangaldan, Pangasinan (pre-school to high school, public and private)
Tuguegarao City (all levels, public and private)

Batac City, Ilocos Norte (all levels, public and private)
Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte (all levels, public and private)
Earlier, the following local governments have also announced the suspension of their classes:
Batanes
Baguio City
Aparri in Cagayan
Benguet
San Fabian in Pangasinan
Ilocos Sur (elementary and secondary levels)
In its 8 a.m. weather bulletin on Monday, the state weather bureau said Julian is nearing the super typhoon category.
The center of its eye was last seen over the coastal waters of Balintang Island in Calayan, Cagayan.
It has maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 215 kph, and it is moving west-northwestward at 10 kph.
