MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued proclamations that declare special non-working days in five localities nationwide, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
The holiday declarations — all within October — were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, based on a statement issued by the PCO on Sunday.

Marcos issued Proclamation No. 693, declaring October 4 a special non-working day in Infanta, Pangasinan, for its 148th Founding Anniversary.
Likewise, Proclamation No. 694 was issued for Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, in celebration of its 67th Founding Anniversary on October 16, and Proclamation No. 695 for Negros Oriental in observance of the Buglasan Festival on October 25.
Additionally, Proclamation No. 696 was also issued, making October 26 a special non-working day for Angeles City, Pampanga, in celebration of the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan Festival, which also commemorates the city’s recovery from the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in June 1991.
Another proclamation was also issued by Marcos, saying that “it is fitting for the people of Dingle, Iloilo to participate in the commemoration of Cry of Lincud, the first declaration of revolution against Spain in the province of Iloilo and the island of Panay.” This makes October 28 a special non-working day, as well, in the whole municipality.
