68 Mandauehanons get free circumcision

The Visayan Electric Co. (Veco), through its corporate social responsibility, held their second Operation Tuli dubbed “Astig Ka Boy!” in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City last April 28.

At least 68 boys aged seven to 17 were circumcised for free.

The circumcision was facilitated by four medical doctors and assisted by six nurses and 11 Veco volunteers.

Aside from the free operation, each child also brought home post-operation medicines, candies and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Subangdaku barangay captain Ernie Manatad, on behalf of all the parents and the children, thanked the power utility for helping transform the young Mandauehanons into manhood.

“Astig Ka, Boy” is a project under the Primary Health and Child Care program of Veco and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. to help the boys in their journey to manhood.
