MANILA, Philippines — There had been no disruption in public transportation despite the two-day strike of groups Manibela and Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston), according to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, Guadiz also belied claims that the transport strike, held from September 23 to 24, was a success.

“Despite claims from transport groups such as Manibela and Piston regarding the supposed impact of the recent two-day transport strike, we observed no significant disruption to vehicular traffic,” he said, as quoted in a statement.
He also said that photos circulating online showing a throng of commuters waiting for public transport were regular situations during weekdays.
Guadiz then thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his support of the Public Transportation Modernization Program—the program which Manibela and Piston are questioning.
“The effectiveness of public transportation and the resilience of our commuters have been evident during this period,” he said.
