PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, Philippines — Authorities arrested three suspected traders of illicit drugs and seized some three kilograms of meth in a drug buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City on Saturday.

Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, police director of the Zamboanga Peninsula region, said the raid, jointly done by Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 and Joint Task Force Poseidon, happened in Sitio San Ramon of Talisayan village, Zamboanga City.

Masauding identified the three arrested suspects as Mario Jalilul of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi province; Alsid Sahiron and Ridsman Majini, both of Pata, Sulu province.

He added that the three were listed in the police’s priority targets.

The seized drugs were contained in three vacuum-sealed plastic packs and were estimated to be valued at P20.4 million.

The seized drugs were submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 9 for analysis while the three suspects were detained at the Zamboanga City Police Office while awaiting the filing of charges.
