MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Igme exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In an early morning advisory, Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said Igme exited the country’s boundaries at 2:30 a.m., and was last spotted some 520 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

“Habang nasa labas ito ng ating PAR, magpapatuloy ‘yung galaw nito generally west-westward for the remainder of the day. At pagsapit naman bukas, magiging west southward ‘yung paggalaw nito,” he said.

(While outside our PAR, it will continue moving generally westward for the remainder of the day. By tomorrow, its movement will shift west-southward.)

Villamil added that Igme may weaken into a low pressure area by Sunday.

Saturday forecast

The country, however, may still experience rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Pagasa said Batanes and Babuyan Islands may expect rains triggered by the habagat, while Ilocos region, Zambales, and Bataan are forecast to have occasional rains also due to the same weather system.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are also expected in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar, likewide due to the “habagat.”

The rest of Visayas, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms were forecast to bring slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao.
