MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Leila de Lima accepted the nomination as the lead nominee of Mamamayang Liberal (ML) party-list, the sectoral wing of the Liberal Party.
De Lima’s co-nominees are former Reps. Teddy Baguilat and Erin Tañada.
Their candidacy was announced during the LP’s national executive council meeting held at Club Filipino in San Juan City on Friday.
“In all humility and conviction, I accepted today the nomination as a lead nominee of the party-list Mamamayang Liberal (ML), the sectoral wing of the Liberal Party (LP), for next year’s elections,” De Lima said in a Facebook post on Friday.
It was also gathered that former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan will also stage a Senate comeback bid while former vice president Leni Robredo will aim for the Naga City mayoral post.
