LIST: In-person class suspensions for Sept 20 due to bad weather
MANILA, Philippines — Several local governments implemented face-to-face class suspensions at public and private schools on Friday, September 20, due to inclement weather.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its weather report earlier Friday that the southwest monsoon, known locally as habagat, is expected to bring cloudy skies with rain to parts of Luzon and Visayas.
Below is the list of areas where school class suspensions were implemented for September 20:
- Infanta, Pangasinan – All levels, public and private (shift to modular learning encouraged)
- Calumpit, Bulacan – All levels, public and private (modular learning to be implemented)
- Angeles City, Pampanga – All levels, public and private (alternative learning modes allowed)
- Murcia, Negros Occidental – All levels, public schools (shift to modular learning encouraged)
- Candaba, Pampanga – All levels, public and private (modular learning to be implemented)
- Pozorrubio, Pangasinan – All levels, public and private (modular learning to be implemented)

Pagasa also reported earlier Friday that a low-pressure area (LPA) formed off Batanes, inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Once it becomes a tropical depression, it will be named Igme, as it would be the ninth tropical cyclone to disturb the country this year.
