Alleged crime group leader nabbed over guns, ‘shabu’ in Tarlac

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Police arrested the alleged leader of a criminal group during the serving of a search warrant that also resulted in the seizure of a handgun, bullets and suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in Tarlac City on September 17.

In a statement on Thursday, the Tarlac provincial police said the 36-year-old arrested person is the leader of the Baluyot Criminal Gang and is the subject of the search warrant issued by Judge Edwin Bonifacio of the Tarlac City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Policemen allegedly confiscated a caliber .45 Colt pistol with a magazine loaded with seven live bullets, three magazines, 10 live bullets, a disassembled caliber .38 revolver, and nine plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a street value of P112,000.

The arrested person faces charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Capas, Tarlac, policemen arrested the town’s most wanted person late afternoon on September 17.

The suspect was arrested after Judge Ronald Leo Haban of the Capas Regional Trial Court Branch 66 issued an arrest warrant against the former for acts of lasciviousness in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act with recommended bail of P180,000.
