Criminal charges await assailant after punching an MMDA enforcer
MANILA, Philippines — A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) enforcer was assaulted during a clearing operation in Pasay City on Wednesday, resulting in a broken tooth.
The assailant, who was found in possession of illegal drugs, was arrested by the police and detained at the Investigation and Detective Management Section near Pasay City Hall.

The incident occurred around noon on September 18 along Advincula Street corner F.B. Harrison Street in Barangay 26.
“Tinutok kasi nung nanuntok yung cellphone sa mukha ng enforcer so hinawi ng tao namin (The person who punched the enforcer pointed his phone at the latter’s face, so our enforcer pushed it away.),” said MMDA Strike Force officer-in-charge head Gabriel Go in a Viber message sent to INQUIRER.net.

“Natapik yung cellphone biglang nanuntok na ng dalawang beses at humabol pa ng isa pang suntok after (The phone was swatted, and then the person suddenly punched twice and followed up with another punch afterward.),” he added.
Go said the assailant might face sanctions for indirect assault, resistance, and disobedience to persons in authority and for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
