Cops seized illegal firearm, shabu from alleged gun runner in Laguna

LUCENA CITY — Law enforcers arrested an alleged gun runner in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and seized an illegal firearm and shabu (crystal meth) in Biñan City, Laguna.

Suspect “Marvin” was collared at 5. p.m. in Barangay San Antonio after he offered an undocumented caliber .38 revolver loaded with three bullets to the police agent posing as a buyer for P5,000, the Region 4A police reported Wednesday, Sept. 18.

During the routine frisking, the police also allegedly found in his possession three plastic sachets containing shabu worth P8,840.

The police are investigating further to identify the source of the gun which would be subjected to ballistic and cross-matching examination to determine records of past crime incidents.

The suspect was detained and will face a charge of possession of an illegal firearm and drugs.
