Albay suspends classes due to heavy rains
Albay officials suspended classes at all levels in public and private schools in the province on Friday due to continuous rains triggered by the southwest monsoon and the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca.
Governor Edcel Greco Lagman advised the public to stay home and monitor the advisories of the local government units.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Southern Luzon issued a red rainfall warning at 5 a.m. in Sorsogon province, which means severe flooding and landslides were expected in high-risk areas.

Article continues after this advertisementThe orange warning was also raised in Albay, threatening to flood low-lying areas, while the yellow warning was in Catanduanes and Camarines Norte.
Pagasa said “Bebinca” was outside the Philippine area of responsibility as of 3 a.m. and located 1,505 kilometers (km) of extreme Northern Luzon with sustained winds of 95 km per hour (kph) and gustiness up to 115 kph. INQ
