Magnitude 4.3 earthquake hits Batanes town
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck a Batanes town on Thursday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to the state seismology bureau, the earthquake occurred at 7:26 p.m. while its epicenter was located east of Itbayat in Batanes.

The quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 145 kilometers.
In an earlier earthquake bulletin, its magnitude was said to be 4.5 while its depth of focus was 127 kilometers.
