MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Renato Corona was seen seated on a wheel chair in a small room behind the Senate plenary hall after he abruptly left the witness stand. The room is where the senator-judges pass through on their way to the session hall.

Corona, who said he was afflicted with diabetes, left after he testified without informing the impeachment court. Presiding senator-judge Juan Ponce Enrile immediately instructed security guards to close the exit door to prevent him from leaving the Senate building.

Corona was seen being manually fanned by someone. He was with other people including defense counsels Serafin Cuevas, Rico Paolo Quicho and Jose Roy III.
