MANILA, Philippines — The number of people reported killed during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) increased to 16 based on the latest data of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

In its situation report released Friday, the NDRRMC also said that Enteng may have left 13 people injured and 17 others missing as of 8 a.m., September 6.

The NDRRMC was still validating the reported deaths due to Enteng, as well as the number of injured and missing, as of writing.

On Wednesday, the Office of the Civil Defense said that reported deaths due to Enteng stood at 15 while 15 people were reported injured and 21 others missing.

Enteng, which has further intensified into a typhoon category outside the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday, likewise affected 2,061,726 individuals, or 538,602 families, so far, according to the NDRRMC.

At least 420 evacuation centers accommodated 47,679 people who were displaced amid torrential rains and flooding, it added – noting that 107 houses were destroyed while 5,858 houses were partially damaged by the weather disturbance.

The NDRRMC further reported that 320, including schools, bridges, government facilities, and others, amounting to P223,602,718 were also damaged by Enteng’s wrath.

On the other hand, Enteng caused agricultural losses amounting to P5,413,159 as of September 6.
