MANILA, Philippines — Three fishers were rescued from a capsized motorbanca in the waters off Rosario, Cavite, said the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Thursday.
According to the PCG in an incident report, the fishermen were rescued by the coast guard, Cavite City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel, and two others after the overturned boat was spotted being dragged by strong waves on Monday, Sept. 2.
The three rescued were identified as 61-year-old Julian Custodio, 37-year-old Joel Custodio, and 31-year-old Anjo Custodio, all residents of Barangay Litong 1, Rosario, Cavite.

The fishermen said they departed on Sunday, Sept. 2 on board FBCA Queen Jenny when they encountered bad weather at sea.
“Due to strong winds and big waves, their fishing banca eventually capsized,” the PCG quoted them as saying.
The PCG then said that all rescued individuals have safely returned to their families as of this posting.
