Tarlac court issues arrest warrant vs Alice Guo

MANILA, Philippines — A Tarlac court has issued a warrant of arrest against dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo (Guo Hua Ping) on Thursday.

The arrest warrant was issued by the Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109 for Guo’s alleged violation of Section 3 (e) and (h) of Republic Act 3019, or the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The bail for the release of the accused is fixed at P90,000 for violation of Section 3 (e), and another P90,000 for violation of Section 3 (h).

It may be provided by the accused or a bondsman “in the form of corporate surety (Section 10, Rule 114), property bond (Sections 11-13, Rule 114), cash deposit (Section 14, Rule 114), or recognizance (Section 15, Rule 114), to guarantee his/her/their appearance before this court as required under the conditions specified in Section 2 of Rule 114 of the Rules of Court.”

The warrant stated that arresting officers are required to use at least one body-worn camera and one alternative recording device, or a minimum of two devices, to capture and record the relevant incidents in the execution of this warrant.

The controversial ex-mayor is expected to arrive in the Philippines from Indonesia Thursday evening.

Guo’s repatriation came after her arrest in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

She has an outstanding arrest order from the Senate for refusing to appear at the committee on women’s hearing.

She is also facing money laundering and qualified human trafficking charges.
