MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcement and justice agencies on Tuesday signed a memorandum of agreement for the National Justice Information Systems (NJIS).
These agencies were the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, represented by its respected chiefs.
NJIS aims to help the three agencies manage and share important information more easily.

In his speech, Remulla said that “it’s about time that this data sharing, information sharing, happened for a system of justice that the people of the Philippines deserve.”
“That is the only proper way to treat our justice system to make sure that we punish people correctly and not make them suffer a day longer in jail, and that’s one of the things that we wanted to happen with NJIS,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gesmundo said that streamlined data sharing is going to be significant for effective and more responsive policymaking in the justice sector.
Abalos, for his part, called NJIS “very handy” and will be “expedient, fast, and effective for everyone.”
