SC suspends operations of courts in Metro Manila, Calabarzon
MANILA, Philippines — Supreme Court (SC) announced the cancellation of operations in courts and its offices in Calabarzon and Metro Manila on Tuesday, Sept. 3, due to the effects of Tropical Storm Enteng.
“Work is suspended tomorrow, 3, September 2024, in all courts and offices in Region IV-A and the National Capital Region,” the SC said in a circular published on Monday night.
Region IV-A stands for Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).
“Also, and as far as practicable, those affected by the said suspension should be notified thereof,” the circular said.
The high court also reminded that all courts and offices in Calabarzon and Metro Manila should be accessible to lawyers, court users and litigants through hotline numbers and email addresses.
Article continues after this advertisementEnteng brought strong winds and rains in most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, tearing off roofs, uprooting trees, toppled concrete electric posts and made streets into rivers in parts of these areas.
Article continues after this advertisementThe tropical storm also struck Central Visayas, killing two people there, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Enteng made landfall in Casiguran, Aurora on Monday afternoon.
