Tropical storm Enteng triggers landslides in Philippines, 11 dead

Floods and landslides killed at least 11 people after a fierce tropical storm dumped heavy rain on the Philippines for a second day, officials said Monday.

Tropical Storm Yagi, which bears the local name “Enteng,” brushed past the Bicol region southeast of Manila overnight Sunday and was expected to make a landfall later Monday on the northeast coast of the main island of Luzon.

Enteng makes landfall over Casiguran, Aurora

Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora on Monday afternoon, according to the state weather bureau.

In a Facebook post, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Enteng landed in the area at 2 p.m.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday assured the public that the government is on top of the situation amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi).

Fuel price hike set on first week of September

After last week’s rollback, a hike in fuel prices will welcome motorists on the first week of September.

In separate advisories on Monday, Seaoil, CleanFuel, and Shell Pilipinas said the per-liter price of gasoline would go up by 50 centavos starting Tuesday.
