Tropical storm Enteng triggers landslides in Philippines, 11 dead
Floods and landslides killed at least 11 people after a fierce tropical storm dumped heavy rain on the Philippines for a second day, officials said Monday.
Tropical Storm Yagi, which bears the local name “Enteng,” brushed past the Bicol region southeast of Manila overnight Sunday and was expected to make a landfall later Monday on the northeast coast of the main island of Luzon.
Enteng makes landfall over Casiguran, Aurora
Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora on Monday afternoon, according to the state weather bureau.
In a Facebook post, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Enteng landed in the area at 2 p.m.

Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday joined members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) as they celebrated the sect’s 39th anniversary while surrounded for a week now by police looking out for their fugitive leader Apollo Quiboloy.
Duterte told the sect’s followers that she was advised not to join them but did so anyway. She also reiterated her earlier apology to them for convincing KJC to support then presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Fuel price hike set on first week of September
After last week’s rollback, a hike in fuel prices will welcome motorists on the first week of September.
In separate advisories on Monday, Seaoil, CleanFuel, and Shell Pilipinas said the per-liter price of gasoline would go up by 50 centavos starting Tuesday.
