Manila RTC judges on leave Tuesday afternoon to support Corona

Judges and employees of various courts in Metro Manila arrive at the Supreme Court to express support to Chief Justice Renato Corona. MANILA, Philippines—Expect no judges Tuesday afternoon  in Manila trial courts

In an interview with Radio Inquirer, Judge Silvino Panfilo Jr., spokesman for Manila Regional Trial Court Judges Association , said he and his fellow judges go on half-day leave in support of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Some of them are joining the convoy from the Supreme Court in Manila to the Senate in Pasay City while other will go directly to the Senate to watch the impeachment trial.

However he said there are still court employees left in their offices to receive complaints and process papers.

“But it’s up to these employees if they will also file for half-day leave,” Panfilo said.
