679 passengers stranded in Bicol ports due to Tropical Depression Enteng

GUINOBATAN, ALBAY—Following the raising of tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 over the entire Bicol on Sunday afternoon (September 1), ports throughout the region halted sea travel, stranding 679 passengers.

According to Coast Guard District Bicol, as of 4 p.m., most of the passengers are in Matnog port in Sorsogon, where 354 are stranded. Pilar town has 49 stranded passengers.

In Albay, 123 passengers were stranded in Pio Duran while 62 were stranded in Tabaco City.

In the rest of Bicol Region, 13 are stranded in Pasacao port in Camarines Sur; 16 in Virac in Catanduanes; and 39 in Masbate City, 14 in Placer, and nine in San Jacinto, all in Masbate.

Two hundred seventy-one rolling cargoes will also be staying in these ports to wait for better weather conditions.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) raised gale warning over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, the eastern coast of Camarines Sur, the eastern coast of Albay, the eastern coast of Sorsogon, and the northern and eastern coast of Northern Samar.
