MANILA, Philippines — Some areas in the country suspended classes for Monday, September 2, because of tropical storm Enteng.

Below is the list of areas where classes are suspended:

  • Metro Manila
    • Caloocan City – all levels (public and private)
    • Las Piñas City – face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private)
    • Malabon City – all levels (public and private)
    • Mandaluyong City – all levels (public and private)
    • Manila City – face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private)
    • Marikina City – all levels (public and private)
    • Muntinlupa City – all levels (public and private)
    • Navotas City – all levels (public and private)
    • Parañaque City – all levels (public and private)
    • Pasay City – all levels (public and private)
    • Pasig – all levels (public and private)
    • Quezon City – all levels (public and private)
    • San Juan City – all levels (public and private)
    • Taguig City – all levels (public and private)
    • Valenzuela City – face-to-face classes in all levels (public and private)
  • Cavite – all levels, public and private
  • Naga City, Camarines Sur – all levels, public and private
  • Camarines Norte – all levels, public and private

Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. bulletin, 16 areas are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1:

Luzon

  • The southeastern portion of Cagayan (Baggao, Peñablanca)
  • The eastern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Dinapigue, Divilacan, San Agustin, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Mariano, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Ilagan City), the southern portion of Quirino (Nagtipunan, Maddela)
  • The northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler)
  • Polillo Islands
  • The southern portion of mainland Quezon (Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Buenavista, San Narciso, Mulanay, San Andres, San Francisco, Lopez, Calauag, Catanauan, Gumaca, Macalelon, General Luna, Quezon, Alabat, Perez)
  • Camarines Norte
  • Camarines Sur
  • Catanduanes
  • Albay
  • Sorsogon
  • Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands

Meanwhile, as of 4 p.m., Enteng was estimated at 100 kilometers (km) northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar, or 115 kilometers east-southeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Enteng is moving in a northwestward direction at 15 kph.
