MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed two proclamations designating a building in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and expanding the Lima Technology Center-SEZ in Malvar, Batangas.
In a statement on Sunday, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Proclamations No. 668 and 670, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, were issued last August 27 upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza).

“Proclamation No. 668 creates and designates a building and the parcels of land where it stands as an Information Technology Center, identified as Lot 16-E, Psd-06-069682 and Lot 16-D-1, Psd-06-085931 in Iloilo City, Island of Panay,” the PCO said.
It added that the building designated is to be known as the Grid.
Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 670 designates several parcels of land as an inclusion to the existing Lima Technology Center-Special Economic Zone.
As of April 2023, there are a total of 419 economic zones in the country, 297 of which are information technology parks or centers, said Peza.
