MANILA, Philippines — The driver’s license of a motorist who tried to speed away while a traffic enforcer was clinging onto the hood of his vehicle has been preventively suspended by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
In a statement, the LTO said the 90-day suspension was part of the ongoing investigation into the matter.

“Hindi lang po preventive suspension, nilagay na rin po natin sa alarma ang pulang Hyundai Stargazer na may plakang NHF 588 habang isinasagawa ang ating imbestigasyon tungkol dito,” said LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, as quoted in a statement.
(Not only have we issued a preventive suspension, but we have also put the red Hyundai Stargazer with the plate number NHF 588 on alert while we conduct our investigation regarding this matter.)
A show cause order (SCO) was also already issued to the registered owner of the Hyundai Stargazer and to her husband, who was then driving the car caught in a viral video.
Based on investigation, the driver of the Hyundai Stargazer sideswiped a Honda Click motorcycle at the East Service Road near Nichols PNR Station in Taguig City.
After being hit, the motorcycle driver moved in front of the Hyundai Stargazer to block it, as the driver seemed to be trying to flee.
The Stargazer then hit the Honda Click again, on its rear this time, before driving away.

The LTO said a nearby traffic enforcer witnessed the incident and tried to stop the Stargazer, but he was ignored by the driver who then sped away.
The enforcer chased and intercepted the vehicle and even stood in front of it; however, the driver stepped on the gas forcing the enforcer to jumped on to the hood to prevent being ran over.
