Support of Marcos on Quiboloy operation lifts our spirit, says PNP

MANILA, Philippines — The support given by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in arresting fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy lifts the morale of the police force, an official said on Wednesday.
According to Police Brigadier General Roderick Alba, the spokesperson of Special Task Force Teknon Alpha, the confidence Marcos has for their operation keeps their spirit up despite the resistance shown by KJC members.
“‘Yong aming morale, aming spirit despite all the…medyo napatagal kami kaunti because of the challenges imposed mismo ng mga supporters,” he said in an interview with the media.
“We really thank the President for his confidence sa ginagawa ng ating PNP,” he added.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had previously urged Quiboloy to face the charges filed against him, saying that the government is only following the law in ordering his arrest.

Alba stressed that the support they get from Marcos gives them strength.
“We really appreciate the support of our President. Ito po ang nagpapalakas sa amin,” Alba noted,” he noted.
Quiboloy, who is facing charges on human trafficking and sexual abuse, has been evading the law forces since arrest warrants were issued against him.
Acting on the information received that the fugitive televangelist was hiding in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City, 2,000 police forces were mobilized on Saturday as part of the operation to serve arrest warrants against the sect leader and other sect members.
KJC members staged a protest in Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila to protest against the arrest warrants issued against Quiboloy. They were also joined by former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in calling for the resignation of Marcos.

Marcos on Tuesday said that there were no human rights violations that happened in the compound raid, emphasizing that sending 2,000 cops to search the compound for Quiboloy was “the only way to maintain peace.”
