MANILA, Philippines — Supporters of fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy bared their plan to camp at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila as part of their protest against the government.

Religious sect Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) supporters led by former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam said they would not leave the area for the night.

In line with this, Cam then asked the public for help.

“Kaya sa mga magmamahal, mga peace loving na mga Pilipino, andito kami nagaantay sa inyo. Hindi kami aalis dito umulan, umaraw, kahit hanggang hating gabi matutulog kami dito sa Liwasang Bonifacio,” the former PCSO official said.

(So to peace-loving Filipinos, we are here waiting for you. We will not leave this place rain or shine, even until midnight, we will sleep here in Liwasang Bonifacio.)

“Kailangan namin ng tubig at pagkain ng kahit ano mapadalhan niyo lang kami dito dahil hindi na kami aalis dito. Sa mga nandito sa Metro Manila, nakikiusap kami, padalhan niyo naman kami ng tubig at tsaka pagkain kahit lugaw at tsaka fried chicken na rin,” she added

(We need water and food. Just send us anything here because we will never leave. To those here in Metro Manila, we are asking you to send us water and food, porridge or fried chicken.)

As of 6 p.m., the crowd estimate in the area so far reached 150.

Cam said two more batches of supporters are expected to arrive in the area.

Supporters gathered at the Plaza Miranda in Quiapo as early as 3:30 p.m. and began marching towards Liwasang Bonifacio at 4 p.m.

KJC members are repeatedly calling for the resignation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and justice for their leader Quiboloy, who is wanted for child abuse, sexual abuse, and qualified trafficking cases.

Over the weekend, around 2,000 members of the Philippine National Police raided the KJC Compound in Buhangin District, Davao City to serve arrest warrants for Quiboloy.

Additionally, two alleged victims of human trafficking were rescued from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City on Sunday.
