Po stops Soquite in Muay Thai bout

GINO “Projectile” Po of Muay Thai Cebu defeated Junrey Soquite in the main event of last Sunday’s 2012 Muay Thai Challenge at the J Centre Mall in barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.

Po connected with his round-house kicks and combinations to force Soquite to surrender in the middle of the second round of their 140-lb fight.

In the co-main event, Kerk Florida of ATC Kickboxing won by a hairline against Neil Bacatan in their 122-lb bout. Florida won via split decision after three rounds.

Leo Rodrigo of Bullet Muay Thai and John Edu Torbiso of Durex Dragon fought for a majority draw decision in the junior featherweight division. John Edu’s brother, Axel Torbiso, knocked out Donald Tubod of Projectile’s Pit Muay Thai in the second round to top the bantamweight division.

Paulo Renen of Muay Thai Bullet Mandaue won over Path Kiram of COMA Kick Boxing via unanimous decision.

Marvin Rabanos defeated Renjie Metchor of Coma Kick Boxing  in the flyweight division bout while Reymar Bolanio of Bullet Muay Thai beat Edwin Velos of ATC Kick Boxing in the mini flyweight division. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
