Makabayan unveils 10-man senatorial slate
MANILA, Philippines — The Makabayan Coalition on Monday added three more names to its senatorial slate for the 2025 polls, increasing the number of candidates from seven to 10.
During a program at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, the coalition revealed that Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston) chairman Mody Floranda, Urban poor group Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) member Mimi Doringo, and Jocelyn Andamo from Filipino Nurses United are now included in its senatorial lineup.
The other seven running under the Makabayan slate are the following:
- Alliance of Concerned Teachers Representative France Castro
- Gabriela Partylist Representative Arlene Brosas
- Kilusang Mayo Uno Secretary General Jerome Adonis
- Former Gabriela Partylist Representative and former National Anti-poverty Commission Chairperson Liza Maza
- Pamalakaya Vice Chairperson Ronnel Arambulo
- Bayan Muna Representative and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan Chairperson Teddy Casiño
- Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas Chairperson Danilo Ramos

Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Bayan Muna Chairman and Makabayan co-chairperson Neri Colmenares, the slate represents their “unwavering dedication to the principles of nationalism, democracy, and social justice.”
