MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Friday said he signed an executive order increasing the number of award categories for Lupon Tagapamayapa or Pacification Committees.
Marcos made the announcement during the first-ever Local Government Summit 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
The Lupong Tagapamayapa is an administrative body created by law to settle minor disputes extrajudicially.
“To recognize our Lupon, which makes an invaluable impact on the peace and order in the community, I recently signed the Executive Order No. 68, which strengthens the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards System and reorganizing the National Awards Committee,” Marcos said.
Marcos said that under EO No. 68, the number of award categories has now increased from four to 10, including the Hall of Fame and Peace Champion awards.
Malacañang, however, has yet to release a copy of the executive order.
