MANILA, Philippines —Around 800,000 land titles are being eyed for distribution to beneficiaries by the end of the current administration, said the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Wednesday.

“Siguro tantiya namin mga 800,000 pang titulo ang kailangan natin ipapabigay sa hanggang matapos ang term ng ating Pangulo – at mukhang magagawa natin,”Agrarian Reform Seretary Conrado Estrella III told Palace reporters in a chance interview.

“It looks like kaya natin dahil nahanap na namin ‘yung paraan para mapabilis,” said Estrella.

(It looks like we can do it because we have found a way to expedite the process.)

Around 100,000 land titles are set to be distributed within the year, with Estrella expressing optimism that it can be completed.

“Doable. Tingin namin, kakayanin namin (we think we can do it),” he said.

According to Estrella, the enhanced coordination between the government’s agricultural agencies significantly boosted DAR’s capability to distribute land titles.

This, he said, could result in increased agricultural productivity.
