MANILA, Philippines — Tuesday’s weather will be generally warm nationwide despite the possibility of rain showers, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“For the rest of the country and Metro Manila, asahan po natin ang mainit na tanghali at mainit na panahon liban na lamang sa mga biglaang buhos ng ulan,” Pagasa specialist Rhea Torres said in an early morning public weather forecast.

(For the rest of the country and Metro Manila, let’s expect a hot afternoon and warm weather except for sudden downpours.)

Torres noted the presence of cloud clusters but said these are expected to dissipate.

“Although nakikita natin dito sa may satellite image may namamataan po tayong mga kaulapan pero most likely hindi magtatagal ito,” Torres said.

(lthough we can see here in the satellite image that we are seeing some clouds, but most likely it will not last long.)

“Most likely, magiging maaliwalas ang panahon at pagdating ng hapon o gabi ay may tiyansa ng localized thunderstorms,” she added.

(Most likely, weather will be good and by afternoon or night, there will be a chance of localized thunderstorms.)

Torres explained that fair weather is possible because the southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat, was only monitored in the extreme Northern Luzon.

Torres likewise said a low pressure area (LPA) was observed inside the Philippine area of responsibility. This LPA was located 1,030 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 a.m..

However, she noted, the LPA is unlikely to become a tropical cyclone and will have no direct effect on the country.

Also for Tuesday, Pagasa did not raise any gale warning over any seaboards nationwide.
