Corona on eve of his appearance before impeachment court: I’m not nervous

MANILA, Philippines—On the eve of his testimony before the Senate impeachment court, Chief Justice Renato Corona on Monday said he does not feel nervous at all.

When asked if he was ready, he told reporters after a Mass at the Supreme Court, “Tinatanong pa ba ’yon (Need that question be asked)?”

When reporters again asked him if he was nervous, he said, “Walang kakaba kaba (I don’t feel nervous at all).”

The Chief Justice added that there was no special preparation for his Tuesday appearance.

The defense team on Sunday had a meeting in preparation for the 40th trial day on Tuesday.

According to Supreme Court Employees Association president Jojo Guerrero, SC employees have set a series of activities for Tuesday including a candle lighting early morning, an interfaith Mass and a motorcade of 100 bikers, which will escort Corona on his way to the Senate, said.
