LUCENA CITY – Police recovered an estimated one kilo of suspected shabu (crystal meth) that might be worth P6.8 million along the coast of Lian town in Batangas province on Tuesday morning, Aug. 13.

The Police Region 4A in a spot report said one alias “Marlon,” a member of the barangay intelligence network, found a sealed gray plastic with Chinese characters along the shore of Barangay (village) Luyahan while conducting coastal clean-up in front of a resort around 7:20 a.m.

When Ilagan opened the sealed plastic, he found one vacuum-sealed white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu inside a transparent plastic container.

He immediately informed the local authorities about the package.

The police said the crystalline substance weighs one kilo and is worth P6,800,000 on the valuation of the Dangerous Drugs Board if it is confirmed to be shabu.

The recovered substance was brought to the police laboratory for a confirmatory test.

The town is located along the coast of the West Philippine Sea.
