Lapu pupils raise books to promote reading

THE Supreme Pupils Government (SPG) of Pajo Elementary School in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City turned over second-hand books to the school’s library last April 3.

The books were raised through the project spearheaded by SPG officers for school year 2011-2012 to promote reading among the schoolchildren.

The pupils and their parents donated the books, while Gervacio Broñola, Philippine Daily Inquirer’s business development officer for the Visayas, gave away copies of Urban Living and Look Magazines.

SPG adviser Mar Anthony Aying and SPG president Mary Clareez Tenerife presented the more than 80 books and magazines to school librarian and guidance counselor Nenette Rafayla.

The project was  through the efforts of SPG officers, namely, Mary Clareez  Tenerife, president; Nikkei Jane Espina, vice president; Pamela Montellano, secretary; Glydel Tirando, treasurer; Jane Taconing, auditor; Alyssa Gabrielle Antonio and Mary Claire Postrano, public relations officers and Kenneth Kim Ancajas and Ryan Gregory Sandal, sergeants at arms.
