MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Luzon and some parts of Visayas on Sunday due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.

In a morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said habagat will specifically affect most of Luzon and the western parts of Visayas.

(Habagat continues to affect Luzon and the western portion of Visayas. Today, we are expecting to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.)

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers from afternoon until evening.

(The rest of the country will still have the possibility of isolated rain showers, lightning and thunder especially in the afternoon and evening due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.)

Pagasa has not not monitored any weather disturbance inside or outside the country’s area of responsibility.

It also did not raise a gale warning in any of the country’s seaboards.
